Estate Information - YOU CAN
LEAVE A LEGACY
-
Prepare a will and include a charitable
request.
Your request can be an outright gift of money or property, a percentage
of your estate, or remainder of your estate after gifts are made to
your family.
-
Use your retirement plan. Fill out a simple
change of beneficiary form. Name Fargo Union Mission, Inc. as
the
beneficiary of your tax deferred IRA or 401(k) retirement
plan.
You live on the money in retirement. Whatever is left at the
time
of your death benefits our ministry.
-
Use your bank accounts. A change of
beneficiary
form can name the Fargo Union Mission, Inc. as beneficiary of your
checking and savings accounts. Again, the money remains yours
during your lifetime.
-
Leverage your life insurance policy. You
can name
a charity as beneficiary of all or part of the policy proceeds.
-
Transfer stocks and mutual funds. By making
gifts
of stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other securities that have increased
in value, you can bypass capital gains tax that would be due on a
sale.
See your attorney about your
legacy. Help
yourself, your loved ones and the Fargo Union Mission.
Together
we can minister to homeless men, women and children in our
